This is the webpage that I use to Blog, Host Projects and Research papers.
Who am I you might ask? Well I am a (just another) IT Security fan. Especially binaries. I love those things. I am Robin Vossen but to figure more out about me I'd just advice you to read this page and the About page. This page is still under construction and as I really don't care much about Web development (that is HTML/CSS but also javascript or PHP) this takes a while. Most of the Coding is outsourced to a mate of mine anyway. So yea, read my thoughts. Give opinions, ask questions and come with projects. I am a huge fan of BSD-Type Licenses. So if your product is like that it might kindle my interest ;)
- Unix Guardian Source Published
- Sunday, February 7, 2010
I have been cleaning up and hacking my laptop recently as I soon start at a new school and I want to be ready.
I realised that I am going to travel a lot. And thus I have decided to pre-publish unix-guardian's source as I can't afford a private git/hg server (poor student) and thus I decided to use GoogleCode.
You can find it here: http://code.google.com/p/unix-guardian/
The code is still dirty, highly untested and I bet buggy. It's not a workable project yet.
However I am going into a new era where I've got some spare time and I have some good ideas for the guardian.
So, please don't label the project yet. Wait for it's first official release.
Oh, and I am looking for a Marketing kind of person who'd like a simple (but paying) job.
That's about it.

Hey All,
Just a small update on things.
The exams are done, I am done with this school year. And I am well pleased ^^
As I recently lost my Job as Malware Analyst though to the events at Kaspersky Lab Benelux ( http://www.kaspersky.nl/en/zakelijk-nieuws/statement-inzake-situatie-kaspersky-lab-benelux.html , Sorry this Doc is only in Dutch... But here is a GTranslate version of it http://translate.google.com/translate?js=y&prev=_t&hl=nl&ie=UTF-8&layout=1&eotf=1&u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.kaspersky.nl%2Fen%2Fbusiness-news%2Fstatement-inzake-situatie-kaspersky-lab-benelux.html&sl=nl&tl=en ) I decided to go look for new study opportunities.
And thus today I've got a meeting at Fontys schools in Eindhoven about the Course "Management and Security" and "Application Development".
With this I hope to finaly get some papers.
So Unix Guardian is getting some work done soon.
Next from that I have been toying more and more with radare and the great Assembler Language. I am currently working on a nice Self-Mulatiation (yes you... [Read more]

Yes! Its happening..
Unix Guardian is near to completion. It needs a few more tweaks and things and the first Beta will be released. I've already told some people about Unix Guardian, but not everbody so this is the first Official piece of information about it.
What is it?
Basically its a stripped down version off the LISS Design but then that it runs on Unix instead of Linux only.
My target systems are: Linux, OpenBSD, FreeBSD, NetBSD and MacOSx
The target user is a really wide variant. But one thing is sure. Its for GTK users. The applications first user interface will be GTK. It doesn't support anything else yet. However I am planning to add an Ajax-Based WebGUI and a console based GUI later. Its for GTK only at this moment.
So, thats cool but what is it and what does it do?
Its a plugin based system that secures your system.
Its made so you will have all your security in one place. I for one really hate the fact that I have to check a lot of different programs to mange my personal security. It works w... [Read more]

Hello All,
Today something nasty has happened. And well I'll keep you guys informed about it soon.
Also, I got to announce that Sushi will have some upcoming Hack-A-Trons.. And thus I hope to speed-release the version. Next from that I am sleeping horrid lately since of a lot of things. And its all Math and IT related. Some obfuscation Algorithms are eating on my brain. I mean I did de-obfuscate them but I get odd thoughts. And I've been tinkering with two game-ideas. I seriously hope I'll manage to build them. But with me its often that when I start coding a game, I lost my interest XD.
Ohohoh, before I forget. I've been playing some "Worms: Armageddon" recently. And it's really fun to blow-up internet worms in that game ^^
I myself have a team with a lot of known "Security Analysts". And the opponents team (AI) has worms like: "Koobface", "Kido", "Z-Bot" but also "I_Love_You.vbs" heh. Throwing Granates to Koobface is always fun ^^
Thats it for now.
Cheers,
Robin

Hello All,
Just another update.
I have been working on Sushi the first Pre-Alpha is done. Nothing will be released yet.
Umm, next from that I have updated the webpage a bit. I applied some Patches and I have been trying to fit the Banner in. However I failed =( I'll just ask Nathalie to fix that for me. I'd bet she'll do that =) Umm lets see whats new besides that? Oh, yes I managed to get my hands on some 'Dexter' DVDs. Its a TV-Show about a serial killer. I really like the show. And it's slowing down development. The State Off Art Metalstore will have a HUGE database update soon. So thats good.
Anyway, I named this post Sushi so I guess I should release a bit more of information about Sushi.
Currently it can intercept and print certain data. It's not much yet but its moving as I promised.
I have also decided that Sushi is going to be a BSD-3 License.
I am currently looking for a Techwriter for Sushi as the manual will be at least as big as the one from Ettercap. Currently I am designing a bit on it and ... [Read more]
